Illumination’s The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash! is a family-friendly dark ride at Universal Studios Hollywood™. In the attraction, guests assume the role of stray puppies traveling through bustling New York City streets in search of a forever home, encountering major characters from the films along the way. Riders travel in two-seat “cardboard box” vehicles moving through the animated world of Max, Duke, Gidget, Snowball, and their friends.

THG partnered with Illumination Entertainment and Universal Creative™ to offer creative consultation from the attraction concept design and schematic design stages, all the way through the attraction’s final installation. THG was additionally tasked with overseeing the integration of animated figures and projection-mapped special effects. Through collaboration and creative thinking, THG ensured this process was anything but ruff!
